Hokema Twin Kalimba

99,00

The Twin Kalimba is 30 cm long and is equipped with two sets of sound tongues tuned to the same pitch on opposite sides. This makes it possible to play alone or in pairs.

Playing in pairs
The real reason for developing the Twin Kalimba was the desire to have an instrument that would allow people to play together. Whether couples, friends, therapists or patients, a shared sound experience is possible. The equally tuned reed sets always produce harmonious tone sequences and sounds. The vibrations of the tones are transmitted to the wood and can be felt not only acoustically but also physically by the person playing.

Playing alone
Hold the Twin Kalimba crosswise in both hands so that each thumb plays one set of tongues. The equally tuned reed sets produce a sound rich in overtones and reverberation, as the equally tuned note on the opposite side resonates with each reed played. The advanced kalimba player has a wide range of possibilities for creating scales by retuning individual notes.

Tuning: 2x A minor ( a’ – c” – c’ – a’ – a – f’ – e’ – e” – b’ )
